Pendant lamp by Svend Aage Holm Sørensen, Denmark 1960
[SOLD] This interesting pendant lamp bears the typical signature of Sørensen: deliberately burned sheets of copper with rough edges in the style of the Brutalists.
It emits a wonderful warm light due to the copper. The clever construction prevents from looking into the bulb from any angle.
Svend Aage Holm Sørensen (1913 - 2004) was a Danish designer, who designed lights for Fog & Mørup in the 1950s. In the mid 1950s he founded Holm Sørensen & Co. The lighting production started with desk lights, but Sven Aage Holm Sørensen processed the copper in his own special way. He used this to create very sculptural lights well into the 1960s. The metal was often burned and cut with rustic edges and surfaces as a result.
The condition of this lamp is very good with only minor traces of age. Fully checked and cleaned by us. It holds a regular E27 bulb.
